The Terms and Conditions set out below apply to any person that chooses to visit the Natural Balance Naturopathy website, use their services, or purchase their products. If you do not accept this agreement, please discontinue use of this website.

All information is provided in good faith, and Natural Balance Naturopathy make no representation or warranty of any kind, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, adequacy, validity, reliability, availability, or completeness of any information on the website.

Client Privacy Policy

This policy is specifically for clients that use the services provided by Natural Balance Naturopathy. It explains how we collect, store and use your Personal and Sensitive Information. This policy has been formed from the Australian Privacy Principles, found in the Privacy Act 1988, that govern the way in which we collect, store, use, secure, disclose, and dispose of the Personal Information you provide us. A copy of the Australian Privacy Principles can be retrieved from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at https://www.oaic.gov.au/privacy/australian-privacy-principles.

Personal information is information or an opinion that identifies an individual, such as your name, address, email address, and phone number. This information is obtained when you as a client book an appointment, submit a form, or make a payment. The Personal Information we collect is used purely in the provision of identifying you within our naturopathic practice, providing our services to your healthcare practitioner, and for capacity planning purposes. This information is not used for our own marketing or advertising purposes without your consent.

Sensitive information is defined in the Privacy Act to include information or opinion about such things as an individual's racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, membership of a political association, religious or philosophical beliefs, membership of a trade union or other professional body, criminal record or your health history information. The Sensitive Information we collect from you or your healthcare provider is used only for the provision of our services in making a holistic assessment, formulating an individual treatment plan, and recommending suitable therapeutic products and practices.

The Personal and Sensitive Information we collect from you or your healthcare provider will be securely stored within SimpleClinic software at all times. SimpleClinic stores this information in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. SimpleClinic uses a number of safeguards to protect your Personal and Sensitive Information including:

  • Username and password access to the SimpleClinic platform.

  • Encryption of all Sensitive Information at rest using AES-256 bit encryption.

  • Encryption of all Sensitive Information in transit using 256 bit SSL encryption.

  • Encryption of all Personal Information in transit using 256 bit SSL encryption.

  • Access logging and auditing of requests to access and modify Personal Information and Sensitive Information.

  • Firewall and IP traffic monitoring for suspicious or malicious traffic.

SimpleClinic uses cookies on their public pages to deliver their core services to our naturopathic practitioner, including online booking forms, other forms, invoice payments, and to monitor page performance and network capacity. They do not utilise cookies for marketing or advertising purposes.

Our naturopathic practitioner controls which services your Personal and Sensitive Information is disclosed to and which information is disclosed. The Personal and Sensitive Information we store within SimpleClinic may be disclosed in a number of circumstances including the following:

  • To third parties where your naturopathic practitioner integrates with another healthcare practitioner.

  • To third parties where your naturopathic practitioner integrates with third party services such as payment gateway providers, email service providers, financial and accounting providers, upstream communication providers, and external calendar providers.

  • If required by law.

  • As a duty of care, if your personal safety and welfare or the personal safety and welfare of another person appears to be at risk.

Out of respect for the privacy of our practitioners, recording of any images, videos or voices during a consultation is strictly forbidden.

Client Consent to Treatment Contract

Upon booking an Initial Naturopathic or Reiki Therapy consultation, each new client will be asked to agree to the following Terms, Conditions, and Consent to treatment. Please read them carefully, and contact us if you have any concerns or queries.

Definition of terms:

  • "I", "my", 'myself",  refers to You, the new client of Natural Balance Naturopathy.

  • "a person", may refer to You or any other person.

  • "Natural Balance Naturopathy", includes the business, its online presence, its Naturopaths, and all staff within the business.

  1. I have read and agree to the Terms and Conditions in relation to use and visitation of the Natural Balance Naturopathy website, their Facebook page, Instagram account, their services, and purchase of their products (see above).

  2. I understand that under no circumstances shall Natural Balance Naturopathy, or its staff, have any liability to a person for any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of the use of their website, Facebook page, or Instagram account, or reliance on any information that has been provided. My use of these avenues and reliance on any information they provide is solely at my own risk.

  3. I have read the Client Privacy Policy and agree to have Natural Balance Naturopathy collect, store and use my Personal and Sensitive Information, as defined in the Policy (see above).

  4. I understand that all of my Personal and Sensitive Information is confidential and will be treated as such by Natural Balance Naturopathy.

  5. I understand that my Personal and Sensitive Information may be disclosed to a third party if my naturopathic practitioner integrates with another healthcare provider, integrates with other third party services (as listed in the Policy), if required by law, or as a duty of care if my personal safety and welfare, or the personal safety and welfare of another person, appears to be at risk.

  6. I agree to honestly disclose all Personal and Sensitive Information that could assist in the formation of my holistic assessment and formulation of individualised treatment, including any medical diagnosis (past or present), any allergies (to food or drink, medication, herbs or plants, nutrients, chemicals or substances, animals or insects)all medication, legal or illegal drugs, supplements or herbal medicine that I am taking, or any other medical professionals from which I am seeking health advice. I agree to notify Natural Balance Naturopathy if any of these change.

  7. I understand that withholding vital information may have an impact on the success of my treatment outcomes.

  8. Out of respect for the privacy of my practitioner, I agree to not record any images, videos or voices during my consultation, whether in person or online.

  9. I agree to disclose if I am pregnant, could be pregnant, are trying to fall pregnant, have been pregnant in the past, or are currently breast feeding, and if this should change.

  10. I understand that in the case of a home visit consultation, I am responsible for preparing an area in my home for the consultation. This area must be reasonably private, comfortable (preferably at a table), quiet, and free from hazards and distractions to promote confidentiality and limit occupational and ergonomic injuries. Once briefly assessed by my practitioner prior to the consultation, I agree to make any recommended modifications for the comfort and safety of all.

  11. I understand that in the case of an online consultation, I am responsible for arranging a reliable internet connection, setting myself up in a private area where I will not be disturbed, and downloading the Microsoft Teams application prior to the consultation starting. https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/microsoft-teams/download-app

  12. I understand that Occupational Health and Safety is of great importance. I agree to maintain a safe distance and  keep physical contact to a minimum. I understand that any physical examination does involve some physical contact and that PPE will be worn by my practitioner for my protection.

  13. If prior to a home visit consultation, I or a person at my residence has fallen ill, is experiencing any COVID related symptoms (sore throat, coughing, fever), has been diagnosed with or been in contact with a person experiencing or diagnosed with COVID, that I must contact Natural Balance Naturopathy as soon as possible so other arrangements can be made.

  14. I understand that if my practitioner falls ill or is unable to practice over my appointed consultation time, other alternative arrangements will be made at her discretion. Alternatives may include a cancellation, or re-scheduling of the consultation, arrangement for the consultation to take place in another location, a referral to another recommended naturopath, or an online consultation.

  15. I understand that if I, or a person at my residence, contracts COVID from a home visit consultation that Natural Balance Naturopathy will not be held liable for any loss or damage of any kind as a result of contracting COVID.

  16. I understand that Naturopathic Medicine uses a holistic approach that focuses on prevention, the identification of the root cause of dis-ease, the removal of disturbing factors that are contributing to imbalance, and the integration of healthier dietary and lifestyle practices. 

  17. I understand that the general informational and educational content provided by Natural Balance Naturopathy is not a substitute for specialist advice or mutually exclusive from any treatment or advice I may be receiving from another healthcare provider.

  18. I understand that naturopathy can have a limited scope and practice, and that I may be referred on to another medical professional or for further testing, as a duty of care.

  19. I agree to seek professional advice before commencing any natural medicine, supplement or dietary advice to ensure my own safety and wellbeing.

  20. I understand that all testimonials are individual to previous clients and do not represent a guarantee of similar results.

  21. I understand that at all times, I am responsible for my own health and the decisions that affect my health and wellbeing. I agree, to the best of my ability, to make the necessary changes for my heal but adopting only what I feel totally comfortable with.

  22. I agree to speak up if any personal contact or physical examination during my consultation is making me feel unsafe or uncomfortable.

  23. I understand that it has taken some time to develop imbalance and dis-ease within my body and therefore it will take some time to heal and feel balance again. Things may worsen before they seem to improve. There is no such thing as a quick fix.

  24. I agree to read my treatment plan and prescription carefully, and only take medicine or supplements as prescribed.

  25. I understand that it is my responsibility to notify Natural Balance Naturopathy immediately if I experience any unpleasant or unwanted side effects or reactions after commencing a new medicine, supplement or diet, or if my current condition worsens.

  26. If at any time, I should become dis-satisfied with the service provided by Natural Balance Naturopathy or experience a problem with the treatment, recommendations or prescriptions provided by Natural Balance Naturopathy, my first action will be to contact them directly in an attempt to have the situation rectified or resolved as quickly as possible. I understand that Natural Balance Naturopathy has the best intentions for all their clients and will make the best effort to do what is right for me.

  27. I agree to provide payment in full upon booking a consultation and prior to its start time.

  28. I understand that a full refund is only provided if I give notice 24-hours prior to the consultation start time, and if I do not give 24-hours notice, my payment will be forfeited and a new consultation fee will be requested to book another consultation.

  29. I understand that the consultation fee does not include any recommended prescriptions of medicine, supplements, or other products. I understand that prescription products must be paid in full before they are ordered, collected, or taken into my possession. I understand that Natural Balance Naturopathy does not accept cash payments.

  30. I understand that Gift Certificates are subject to the same Terms and Conditions set out on this page. Gift Certificates are credit vouchers that can be used, by the bearer named on the card, towards an Initial Naturopathic Consultation or Reiki Therapy Consultation, but not for the purchase of further gift certificates or prescription medicine. Gift Certificates are non-transferable, non-refundable, and unexchangeable for cash. Natural Balance Naturopathy will not be held responsible for loss, theft, damage or use of the certificate without permission. Gift Certificates can be redeemed before the expiry date stated on the card by calling Natural Balance Naturopathy to book a consultation, subject to availability.

  31. I agree to treatment through the services of Natural Balance Naturopathy, and I understand that this contract is binding and a professional relationship is automatically formed when a service or product is purchased from Natural Balance Naturopathy.
