Spring has sprung!

In the Southern Hemisphere, the 1st September is officially the first day of Spring. A time when Nature herself shows us how to recover from the darkness, hibernation, and reflection that Winter offered. She moves us gently out of the cold and into the Light and warmth of the Sun. The days get longer as the Sun moves in a slightly larger arc through our Northern sky.

Only five days ago, we celebrated a New Moon, signifying the beginning of a new moon cycle. Both of these events make it an optimal time to plant new seeds – physically and metaphorically speaking. Spring and the New Moon symbolise new beginnings and new growth, and we can use this energy to unravel and open ourselves to new experiences and new opportunities, make new plans, and set new goals for ourselves or our business.

Today I planted tiny herb and flower seeds that I’d been saving for some time. I really look forward to this because I do this practice very slowly, mindfully, and carefully. I lovingly put them to bed in fresh soil and ceremonially chant the Gayatri Mantra as a special blessing upon and over them. They always do so well. I really look forward to watching them sprout, grow and bloom. It always brings me so much joy!

The first day of any month is the best time to bless your home with a prosperity and abundance spell too. You can do this easily by standing outside your front door and blowing a teaspoon of ground cinnamon with a pinch of salt from your open palm towards your open front door. As you do so, say:

“With this cinnamon I blow prosperity and abundance into my life.

With this cinnamon I blow an endless flow of wealth and prosperity into my home.

With this cinnamon I blow health and wealth, prosperity and abundance into my life.

And so shall it be, three times three, so shall it be”.

Leave the cinnamon for at least 24 hours before sweeping it up.

Being such an auspicious time for manifesting abundance, I created a money bowl today. I prefer to call it an abundance bowl because wealth can come in many different forms. I chose a beautiful crystal bowl, placed a green candle in the middle and half filled the bowl with rice. You can add anything to a money bowl that symbolises wealth and abundance to you. I wrote significant words on dried bay leaves from my garden: gratitude, abundance, love, health and wealth. I placed gold coins, flowers, dried petals, herbs (rosemary, mint, sage, thyme), green crystals and pyrite (also known as fool’s gold), feathers, scrolls of cinnamon and money notes in the bowl. I carefully place everything in the bowl in a clockwise direction, which signifies manifesting and growing. I play soul reaching music, burn sage or incense, and clang my Tibetan bells three times to announce my intention.

I close this blessing and creation by lighting the candle. I bless my bowl by giving thanks and holding deep gratitude for the past and the experiences I’ve been blessed to have had - pleasant and unpleasant. I release and let them go. I welcome new experiences into my life that serve my highest purpose, that nourish my soul and allow me to live to my highest potential. I welcome prosperity and abundance into my life, in all its forms.

It’s such an easy and satisfying practice that can have very meaningful results. My last money bowl brought three new clients and their beautiful families into my life. I feel so truly abundant!

May you enjoy Spring as it unfolds - the new shoots, the flowers, the bees, birds, and butterflies. The frosty mornings and warm sunny days. Plant some seeds. Pot some colour where you can see it every day. Take some time out in Nature, admiring the beauty as it unravels before you. Give thanks for the abundance you hold in this and every moment. For we are all truly blessed, we just need to take the time to see it.

In health and wellness,

Monica♥
